Jennifer and Kevin both enjoyed childhoods and created family memories that were anchored by shared experiences at lake front cottages.   Jennifer was fortunate enough to grow up every summer at her family cottage on Lake Superior.   Her parents always had an open door and invited friends to visit and join them at their cottage for weekends or holidays.  Jennifer forged great lifelong relationships and made many happy memories on her beach.  The beauty of Lake Superior and its rugged landscape in the surrounding areas permanently placed great admiration for the majesty of God’s creation in her heart.

Kevin had many family experiences at cottages throughout his growing up years and stories are still told at family gatherings of adventures made possible by the cottages and surroundings that the family enjoyed.   Significantly and profoundly, Kevin’s family was able to enjoy their precious cottage experiences because of the blessing of others.    Every time spent at a cottage was a gift from a relative, or friend and sometimes even an acquaintance who, for one reason or another, felt moved to give a weekend, a week or more to a pastor’s family with 4 little boys.   These priceless gifts created foundational memories for Kevin and his family.  They provided opportunities for the family to rest and recover, a place to disconnect from their busy lives.

For all of these reasons and more, Jennifer and Kevin see the eternal value and privilege found in blessing family and friends and those who otherwise might not have a cottage experience to enjoy.   This is why “Haven and Grace” cottage exists.
